We've gone Plurk mad with the release of our second Plurk extension in a week! For those of you unaware of Plurk, it is a snazzy social networking site with traits similar to Twitter and Facebook. It allows users to showcase the events that make up their lives, and also follow the events of the friends and family through their "plurks", displayed on an easy to view  timeline.

To compliment our extension allArticlePlurk, which automtically post the a link, title and the first 80 characters of newly published articles to Plurk, we have created and released allInstantPlurk. It has been designed for people who have been caught out midway through writing an article by having the revelation “this sentence would make a fantastic plurk?” There are few things more frustrating than being too short on time to navigate and login to yet another website to get your information out to your clients.

After the success of our initial social networking extension, allArticleAnnounce, Joomtraders has had several requests to construct a similar extension for the popular, but relatively new, social network called Plurk (http://www.plurk.com).

allArticlePlurk has been designed as a link to Plurk from Joomla!, eliminating the need to manually publish an article to both websites. Using allArticlePlurk, a user can let their Plurk friends and followers know of the existence of a new article as soon as it is published.

Ever been midway through writing an article and had the revelation “this sentence would make a fantastic tweet?” There are few things more frustrating than being too short on time to navigate and login to yet another website to get your information out to your clients.

That is where allInstantTweet shines! By simply highlighting the important text in your article (up to 120 characters) and the press of a single button in your WYSIWYG, your thoughts, ideas and important updates are instantly transmitted and posted directly to Twitter with no fuss.

allInstantTweet is stand-alone extension, but works well in conjunction with allArticleAnnounce; an automated article to Twitter and Facebook extension. This extension and many more can be found in our extension section of our website.

We are nearly at the end of our extended discount period for our subscriptions. Over this time we have seen many people take advantage of the low prices to get extensions for a seriously discounted price. We have also released a further four extensions during this time which has brought our tally up to seven publically available. We are pleased to be able to let you know that more are coming in the near future.

Since our extensions have been listed on the Joomla! extension directory, we have received a lot of extra attention and feedback. The feedback has been greatly useful in refining and improving the extensions and we invite you to give us more.

Due to the popularity and success of this month, and also to celebrate the first of many of our extensions finding their way on to the Joomla! Extensions Directory (JED), we have decided to extend the date of our Let’s Decimate December Sale until the end of January!

We also have two new extensions on the way, and which will be out on around mid January 2010. So please, keep an eye out over the coming month, the new extensions will be on sale too!

I once heard it said that if there was a country of the world that was peaceful and desired by most as a great place to live it would be Australia. I then heard the same person say that if Australia takes that role for the world, then in a similar fashion Adelaide takes that role for Australia. We think it's important to know as Joomtraders are based in Adelaide, South Australia. We are privileged to live in a city that is peaceful and the biggest distraction for most is the beautiful weather. Whilst wondering what advantage this brings us from a coding perspective I came to realise that we are in a great position to focus on what we do best.
