Joomla User Group Adelaide - April 2011

The next Joomla User Group Adelaide hosted at Alltraders will be on the 19th of April from 6pm.

Since the Sydney group is talking about Drupal, we think good discussion point for this month's meeting is a recent review of open source content management systems, which caused Joomla co-founder Brian Teeman to tweet last night,

"i'm going to write a review comparing win3.1 with latest version of osx - doh not that stupid but this guy is http://tinyurl.com/3ptrtpo"
- Brian Teeman

Do have a read of the article - we hope like us, you find it amusing and a source of new questions.

"WTF?!@ You mean to say the blank pages on connection to Twitter on some servers... are fixed? Are you sure?" asked Gusto.

Updated allChimp and allChimpRegister Mailchimp integrations

allChimp and allChimpRegister updated! The popular MailChimp integration component for Joomla!, allChimp has been updated to version 1.1.1 (com_allChimp.zip). When a user registers, a 'user type' is now also sent to the MailChimp database. This was a problem with previous versions, especially for bloggers who need to be a specific type.

The allChimp plugin for Virtuemart has also been updated to 1.01. The changes ensure that MailChimp gets updated when any virtuemart user field is modified. Previously, MailChimp was only updated when the user elected to unsubscribe from the list.

Joomtraders has updated their free Mailchimp integration for Joomla, allChimpRegister as well. This popular extension, now at version 1.2.1, now supports email addresses that include a subdomain, for example,
me @ subdomain.domain.com.

allCineVid 1.0 SQL Injection

allCineVid

After successfully reaching the JED last week, our new extension for inserting Youtube, Vimeo and Dailymotion videos into a Joomla! website through the use of a lightbox, allCineVid, was taken down due to a suspected SQL injection flaw.

After looking into the issue, we found that there is an unwarranted condition that can be inserted in the URL string, though we are at the understanding that it is not a major risk because it is limited by the ID condition in the string. Regardless, a fix has been applied and we recommend that users upgrade to the the latest version of the extension.

If you have any questions regarding this extension, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
