There is about to be an influx of information on the extension product pages. We have spent the last week creating a new structure for presenting more information about each of them. Our focus has been on providing a complete picture so that viewers can see what all of the features are and also see screenshots of how they work. If it wasn't for buying a computer that was a real dog, I probably wouldn't have written this. However, I did and it was pretty bad so I want to tell you about my experience. Before I do that though I want to say that I learned a lot from the "support" experience. Things I didn't think I needed to learn.

My new state of the art Dell laptop was a dog. It lasted about 40 minutes before it started freezing. Having the latest Intel i7 chip in it made me confident and having Dell as the hardware provider was comforting as thier warranty is very good. However, having Windows 7 in it, made me worry, based on thier previous offering (Vista).  Anyway, after about three hours of use and four crashes, I was becoming very unhappy with Microsoft. It had to be them, based on track record and I had stupidly tried out their latest OS offering without giving it the benefit of a year of customer feedback. What a mistake.

My dad keeps bringing me newspaper articles about stuff that he thinks i'll like. It's really good that he cares enough to cutout the pieces from multiple pages and paste them together for me. But sometimes it's hard to show my appreciation when I get them. It took me a little while to work out why. I'm pretty sure it's because written communication has changed dramatically over the last twenty years and we don't read the same way we used to.

After buying a company with it's own CMS that it had developed over several years we thought we had something special. In hindsight, we did have something special, however after being shown Joomla!, we quickly realised that Joomla! is the CMS of choice. It wasn't that our CMS wasn't fully featured, easy to use, or extensible. It was. It was more that the Joomla! project has a great sense of excitement about it and the contributing community, from end users through extension developers to the core team, all showed a great passion for it and for thier contributions.
